- Site: a photography website builder with 12 themes, a live editor, Stories (a blog with RSS), a print shop that uses your own payment links, inquiry forms, password-protected pages, and your own domain on Pro and Studio. Sites publish at geardex.app/your-name and opt out of AI training by default.
- Client galleries: deliver photos with covers, favorites, full-resolution and web-size downloads, a password, email gate or download PIN, expiry dates, watermarks, and a record of who opened, favorited and downloaded.
- Clients and business: Pro includes clients, companies, jobs, and a calendar for shoots, loans and service. Studio adds a pipeline inbox with email replies, online booking and mini-sessions, quotes, contracts and invoices, automations, and client shoot pages. Invoices and deposits are paid through the photographer's own payment link (Stripe, PayPal, Venmo, Square, Cash App or any https link); GearDex never handles or takes a cut of client payments.
- GearDex tracks camera bodies, lenses, filters, drones, lighting, audio equipment, bags, supports, and accessories.
- Records can include serial numbers, purchase details, values, condition, locations, item photos, notes, receipts, warranties, maintenance history, and loan status.
- Photography workflows include reusable rigs, shoot planning, gear assignments, packing decisions, equipment loans, maintenance schedules, reports, and public kit showcases.
- The responsive web app works in modern browsers on phones, tablets, and computers.
- GearDex Desktop is available for macOS (Apple silicon and Intel) and Windows.
- Plans: Starter is free forever (a one-page photography website with the Index theme, client galleries, up to 25 gear items, 3 shoot plans). Pro is $4/month or $39/year (unlimited gear, 3 Site themes, 5 pages, your own domain). Studio is $19/month or $179/year (a 10-seat team workspace, all 12 Site themes, full design control, reusable styles, Stories, unlimited Site pages, booking, quotes, contracts, invoices, and the Studio Agent API). Older third-party listings quoting $9 and $29 are out of date.
- Iris, the built-in AI assistant, answers plain-English questions about your kit, including lens-to-camera mount compatibility.
- Scale: 6,100+ items tracked and $722K+ in gear value managed across 300+ photographers, studios, and rental houses.
- CSV import is available for cameras, lenses, accessories, filters, and drones, with per-type templates and row-level validation. Everything can be exported: a full account ZIP (records plus uploaded photos, receipts, and documents), inventory and records as JSON, or gear as CSV (all gear or one gear type).
- The web app has layouts built for phones (including foldables) and tablets and can be added to a home screen.
- GearDex can organize records used in an insurance conversation, but GearDex does not provide insurance or guarantee claim coverage.
