Photography Equipment Insurance Checklist
Your checklist will appear here
Prepare the equipment record
A useful record identifies each item, shows that you owned it, and gives an insurance professional enough detail to discuss an appropriate limit and valuation method.
- Record brand, model, serial number, purchase date, purchase price, and a current replacement estimate.
- Keep receipts or other proof of purchase and clear photos of important items.
- Store a copy away from the place where the gear normally lives.
Questions depend on how you work
Paid work, frequent travel, rented equipment, drones, employees, and a dedicated studio can change the risks you need to discuss. The generator adds questions when you select those situations.
Coverage is policy-specific
Ask about limits, deductibles, exclusions, territory, theft from vehicles, accidental damage, water, replacement-cost versus depreciated-value treatment, and whether business use needs separate coverage.
This checklist helps you prepare. Only your policy and insurer can tell you what is covered.
