What is a camera gear inventory app?
A camera gear inventory app is a searchable database of the photo and video equipment you own. Each item has its own record, with the model, serial number, specs, purchase price, condition, and location, so you can find it, insure it, lend it, or sell it without digging through receipts or spreadsheets.
A spreadsheet only knows what you remembered to type.
Most kits start as a list: a spreadsheet tab, a notes file, a photo of the gear bag. It works until you need a serial number at a rental counter, the purchase date for a warranty claim, or proof of value after a theft. Then the missing column is the one that matters.
Spreadsheets also treat a lens and a drone the same. There's nowhere natural for mount, filter thread, FAA registration, or flight hours, so those details end up in comments, or nowhere.

Settings › Data & Privacy exports a full account archive (a ZIP with your records plus every uploaded photo, receipt, and document), your inventory and records as JSON, or your gear as CSV, either everything at once or one gear type at a time. Importing is just as granular: a CSV template for each gear type, with field mapping and row-by-row checks before anything saves.
