What is a camera inventory API?

A camera inventory API lets software read and update your equipment records without the app. GearDex's Studio Agent API exposes gear, shoots, and maintenance over REST with scoped Bearer keys, sends signed webhooks when records change, logs every call, and ships an MCP adapter so AI agents can use the same tools.

Your gear data shouldn't be stuck in one app.

Studios already run on other tools: a CRM for clients, a project board, an accounting system, and increasingly an AI agent that drafts the weekly brief. The gear records are the one thing that never makes it across.

So someone copies it by hand, and it's out of date by Friday.

The GearDex API and MCP adapter let your systems ask for the data they need, with keys scoped to exactly that.

Create a key in Settings under API & Agent Access, name it, pick its scopes, and set an expiry. The full key is shown once, with a Save this key now banner, then stored hashed. Every key lists its status, scopes, and when it was created, last used, and expires.

Webhooks you can verify.

Add an endpoint, pick events, and send a test. Each endpoint shows its last delivery, success, and failure, a list of recent deliveries you can inspect or replay, and delivery analytics: success rate, failures, retry queue, and average attempts. Every delivery is signed with HMAC-SHA256.
